Cardizem CD Description
Cardizem CD is a medicine, which is meant for patients diagnosed with symptoms of high blood pressure and angina (pain in the chest). The family of drugs to which Cardizem CD belongs is called calcium channel blockers. The drug works by slowing the heart rate and the heart’s electrical conduction. It helps to relax the muscles of the heart, blood vessels around it and reduces the workload of the heart. The drug also helps to treat other problems of the heart like irregular heart rhythms.
The medicine is mostly used in syringes and is injected into the body by doctors. It is also available in the form of capsules and is usually blue and turquoise in color.
