Estrace is a form of oestrogen, a female sex hormone secreted by the ovaries. The generic name of the medication is estradiol. Estradiol is a crystalline solid, white in colour. The 0.5 mg tablets are white to off-white in colour. The 1 mg tablets are light purple in colour. The 2 mg tablets are green in colour.
