Mysoline Dosage Information

a.) Typical dosage recommendations

Take the medicine exactly as recommended by the doctor. The typical dosage suggested varies depending on the extent of a patient’s illness, age and gender. Younger patients may be advised 50mg tablets fewer times a day while older patients may be given stronger doses more frequently. Under normal conditions though, the medicine is taken 2 to 4 times a day. However, in several cases doctors may suggest lower doses and gradually increase the dose to control the extent of seizures in a patient. It is not advisable to consume the tablet more than four times a day.

b.) Missing a dose

If you miss a dose, consult your doctor immediately. However, be sure to take the medicine on time as prescribed by the doctor to avoid the worsening of the condition. When you miss a dose, your doctor may advise you to take a replacement dose or wait until the next dose is due if there is a very short time gap left for the next dose. Do not attempt to take two doses within a short period of time; it may lead to further health complications or an overdose.

c.) Overdosing

If you experience any discomfort after having too much of the medicine or more than the suggested quantity within a short time span then consult your doctor. Although the precise symptoms of Primidone are not known, in most cases medicinal drug overdose symptoms include weakness, extreme nausea, vomiting, fever, chills etc. When you realize that you have had more than the required quantity, consult your doctor immediately.
