Tribenzor
Tribenzor Drug Description
Tribenzor is the brand name of a prescription medicine that is indicated in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). In hypertension the normal pressure of blood flowing through the arteries gets elevated. This puts pressure on the cardiac muscles, making them work harder in order to circulate the blood through the arteries and other blood vessels. This abnormality can lead to a range of life-threatening conditions like cardiac attack (myocardial infarction), cardiac failure, stroke, peripheral arterial disease, arterial aneurysms and even chronic renal impairment. Tribenzor is concomitantly prescribed with other medications to lower the blood pressure and reduce chances of the life-threatening conditions. It is prescribed only when other medications have not been effective in treating hypertension. Tribenzor tablet is a formulated combination of three primary ingredients; amlodipine (CCB), olmesartan medoxomil (ARB) and hydrochlorothiazide (thiazide diuretic). It is available in different strengths depending on the quantity of the primary ingredient present. The tablets are colour coded for easy identification. Generally, Tribenzor is available as (amlodipine / olmesartan medoxomil /hydrochlorothiazide): 5 /20 /12.5 mg (orange white), 5 /40 / 12.5 mg (light yellow), 5 /40 /25 mg (light yellow), 10 / 40 /12.5 mg (greyish red), and 10 / 40 /25 mg (greyish red). Each tablet also contains silicified microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, pregelatinized starch, pregelatinized starch, talc, titanium dioxide etc and suitable colouring agents as inactive ingredients. Tribenzor tablets are available in blister packs of 10 tablets in each pack or in bottles of 30 tablets or 90 tablets in each bottle. Tribenzor tablets are presented by Daiichi Sankyo, Inc.
Conditions Treated by Tribenzor
Tribenzor is a preset combination of amlodipine, olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide and is prescribed to lower high blood pressure in patients suffering from hypertension. It is often prescribed concomitantly with other medicines for best result. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and works by widening the blood vessels and improving the flow of blood through them. Olmesartan is a type II angiotensis receptor antagonist. It prevents the narrowing of blood vessels so that the flow of blood through them is smooth and uninterrupted. Hydrochlorothiazide is a type of thiazide diuretic which does not allow the body to absorb excess salt; thereby preventing chances of unwanted fluid retention. All the three molecules work together to keep the blood pressure under control and prevent unwanted medical conditions.
