Yaz Dosage Information
a.) Typical dosage recommendations
Birth control medication is usually taken once a day, every day. Women are normally advised to take the first pill on the first day of their menstrual cycle. Some doctors may recommend starting on the first Sunday after the menstrual cycle begins. The pill needs to be taken once a day, at the same time everyday. It is important to keep a ready stock of the medication all the time.
b.) Missing a dose
The reason contraceptive pills are supposed to be taken daily is because they reduce the chances of pregnancy. When you miss a pill, it may increase your chances of pregnancy. Usually, doctors recommend taking two pills on the same day when you miss a dose on one day. Once you have taken a replacement dose it is alright to resume the one-pill-a-day system again. The same process can be followed if you miss two pills on two separate days. However, if you forget to take the medication for three days in a row then it safer to throw away the pack and start the count again with a new pack.
c.) Overdosing
When you miss a pill and try to replace it with another extra pill you may unknowingly overdose on the medication. This is why it is safer to seek immediate medical attention when you miss a dose. If you feel that you may have overdosed on Yaz, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms of an overdose will include vomiting, extreme stomach pain, vaginal bleeding, nausea.
