Zestoretic Drug Description

Zestoretic is a drug that is made up of a combination of two major components namely hydrochlorothiazide and lisinopril. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of compounds called thiazide diuretic (also called water pill). This compound prevents fluid retention in your body by preventing the body from absorbing salts in excess. The other compound Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors or ACE inhibitors that can help lower blood pressure and relive water retention symptoms. Zestoretic is supplied in the form of tablets and is available in three forms containing varied milligram concentrations of lisoprinil and hydrochlorothiazide such as Zestoretic 10-12.5, Zestoretic 20-12.5 and Zestoretic 20-25.
