Symbicort Inhaler (Budesonide Formoterol Fumarate)
Symbicort Description
Symbicort is a medicinal drug containing a combination of formoterol and budenoside. Formoterol is a rapidly acting as well as long lasting beta 2 agonist (or bronchodilator) while budenoside is an anti inflammatory corticosteroid. Symbicort delivers both of these drugs via a single inhaler. The combination of budenoside and formoterol is used in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD as well as in managing asthma.
Symbicort can thus be said to prevent the occurrence of bronchospasms in patients. Budenoside works by reducing any inflammation present in the body while formoterol acts by relaxing the muscles of the airways in order to facilitate breathing.
Conditions Treated by Symbicort
As already mentioned, Symbicort uses a combination of formoterol and budenoside to prevent the onset of bronchospasms in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD as well as in people suffering from asthma.
